WORD BAPTIST CHURCH'S BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR JESUS
Saturday, December 20, 2009
We had an high day for 2009 of 72 on Saturday, December, 20th. We use this time of the year for Evangelism and invite Thai people to come be our special guests who would not normally come. We invite them to come hear the Gospel and the real reasons why Christ was born! We had 16 adult visitors, a number of young people and children come. Pastor Oie and his associate, Brother Sak, are in the first 2 pictures respectively. Three groups from our Church sang specials: The first group are ages 5 to 9, the second group are ages 10 to 12, and the third group is from the Phon Phisai. Pastor Oie asked me to bring the message. The message outline and Scriptures are at the end of the photos below.
WHY WAS JESUS CHRIST BORN?
1 Timothy 1:15: This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
1 Timothy 3:16: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
1. Christ was born to reveal Truth:
John 1:1-3, 14, 18: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. ... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and TRUTH. ... No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
John 18:37: Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the TRUTH. Every one that is of the TRUTH heareth my voice.
2. Christ came to show God's Love for Man:
John 3:16-17: For God so LOVED the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
1 John 4:9-10: In this was manifested the LOVE of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is LOVE, not that we loved God, but that he LOVED us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
3. Christ was born to show God's Holiness:
Galatians 4:4-5: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made UNDER THE LAW, to redeem them that were UNDER THE LAW, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Matthew 5:17-18: Think not that I am COME to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not COME to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
1 John 3:5: And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and IN HIM IS NO SIN.
4. Christ came to fulfill Bible Prophecy Concerning:
A. The Seed of the Woman:
Genesis 3:15: And I [God] will put enmity between thee [Satan] and the woman, and between thy seed and HER SEED [Jesus]; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Isaiah 7:14: Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a VIRGIN shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Galatians 4:4-5: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a WOMAN, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons
Matthew 1:21-23: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a VIRGIN shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
B. God's Covenant with King David:
2 Samuel 7:12-17: And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed [Solomon] after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
Isaiah 9:6-7: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Luke 1:31-33: And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Revelation 12:5: And SHE brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
C. The Place of Christ's Birth:
Micah 5:2: But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
Luke 2:4-5, 11: And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. ... For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
D. The Time of Christ's First Coming:
Daniel 9:25: Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and THE WALL, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself ... (This prophecy indicates that 483 Jewish lunar years [7 x 7 + 62 x 7 = 483] after the issuing the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem Christ would come and would be cut off. Jesus fulfilled this prophecy at His first coming. The 483 year count down began when King Artaxerxes issued the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem.)
Nehemiah 2:1, 7-8: And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king. ... I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah; And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the kings forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for THE WALL of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And THE KING GRANTED ME, ACCORDING TO THE GOOD HAND OF MY GOD UPON ME. (King Artaxerxes issued the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem in 445 BC. Jesus was born and fulfilled the prophecy of Daniel 9:25-26 on schedule.)
5. Christ was manifested to destroy the works of the Devil:
Hebrews 2:14-15: Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, THE DEVIL; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
1 John 3:8: He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of THE DEVIL.
6. Jesus Christ was born to be a Saviour for Sinners:
Matthew 1:21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Luke 2:11: For unto you is born this day in the city of David A SAVIOUR, which is Christ the Lord.
A. Jesus Came to Show Us Our Sinfulness:
John 12:46: I am come A LIGHT into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
John 3:18-21: He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 9:39-41: And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
B. Jesus Came to Seek Sinners:
Matthew 18:11-13: For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
C. Jesus Came to Call Sinners to Repentance:
Matthew 9:13: But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
D. Jesus Came to Condemn and Take Away Our Sins:
Romans 8:3: For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.
1 John 3:5: And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
E. Jesus Christ Came to Reconcile Us to God:
Hebrews 2:17: Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make RECONCILIATION for the sins of the people.
F. Jesus Came to Give His Life to Pay for Our Sins:
Mark 10:45: For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Hebrews 10:4-10: For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Philippians 2:6-8: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
G. Jesus Came to Give Abundant Eternal Life:
John 10:10-11, 18: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. ... No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
1 John 4:9: In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
John 1:11-13: He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as RECEIVED him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that BELIEVE on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace are YE ARE SAVED THROUGH FAITH; and that not of yourselves: it is THE GIFT OF GOD: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but THE GIFT OF GOD is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
John 4:10: Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest THE GIFT OF GOD, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
Revelation 22:17: And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
