WORD OF LIFE RADIO PROGRAM

We are currently broadcasting into the closed field of Communist Laos 7 days a week for an hour each day (7:30 to 8:30 PM). We have been broadcasting daily now since April of 2002!

Pastor Oie and Dr. John Henry are the main speakers Sunday through Friday, and John's wife, Sue, has a children's program every Saturday. Members of Word Baptist often sing and read Scripture for the programs.

Our programs are unlike most Christian programs here in Thailand that are filled with contemporary music, small talk and have little Gospel content. We teach the Word of God, the blood and resurrection of Christ, Hell hot and Heaven sweet. We teach the need to receive Christ through repentance and faith. Our main goal is salvation of souls and secondly to strengthen believers that listen.

When we first started this ministry in October of 2000 it was truly a faith ministry, because we had no funds for it whatsoever. Lighthouse Baptist in Lake Mary, Florida gave for the first month's broadcast, and other churches helped and we were able to broadcast for 7 months. We stopped at the end of April 2001 and resumed in April 2002 after I spent four months in the States raising funds for this important ministry.

From 2002 to 2005 we were on a powerful station the signal of which carried into 4 provinces (and parts of others) here in Thailand and covered the Capitol of Laos and reaching deep into that closed field. We estimate that we had a potential listening audience of well over four million souls. [1]   However, in 2005 we had to make cutbacks due to financial considerations. Since then we have been on a less powerful station here in Nong Khai. This station reaches all of Muang District of Nong Khai where we are and several other near by districts, and Vientiane, the Capitol of Laos. These areas have a potential listening audience of more than a million souls. [2]   We are only 20 kilometers from the Laotian Capitol.

Please pray with us that we might be able to continue this Gospel ministry to the lost of Nong Khai and Vientiane.

Pray too that we might raised additional support to expand this ministry by adding more stations.

Especially pray that souls be saved and believers be strengthened through the Word of Life Radio Program.
